Platt Chef Gets a Taste of Hollywood!

Back in June, the Food Network came to Pawhuska, Oklahoma to do a 6 episode series with a famous Oklahoman culinary blogger.

Ree Drummond, or "The Pioneer Woman" as she likes to be called, has garnered over 200,000 followers on Facebook and Twitter dying to see what recipe she will post next. But when she caught the attention of the Food Network, she knew where to come for assistance in making her creations as beautiful and tantalizing as they could possibly be: Platt's own chef-instructor Tiffany Poe.

Tiffany Poe, who was trained at nationally-renowned culinary schools, is a chef instructor and TM program manager in Platt's culinary school. Since October of 2009, she has been teaching classes at Platt that range from intro level all the way up through Garde Manger classes. But knowing that even she would need a hand, and not wanting her students to miss out on valuable on-site experience, she invited student Meseidy Rivera to come along. So, Poe and Rivera were called to the Pioneer Woman's side for fourteen full days of shooting.

230 hours and 121 pounds of butter later, they wrapped it up.

The show, "The Pioneer Woman Cooks," will begin airing on the Food Network on August 27th. Be sure to look for it, and don't forget who was working hard behind the scenes to make those dishes so beautiful!
